Today, we gather for the maiden Annual General Meeting of Akuluno United Brothers Association, a momentous occasion that marks our collective journey toward progress and unity. I am honored to stand. before you as President.

I recall the early days when we were articulating this idea; I was burdened about the potentials of our people and the opportunities that existed if their potentials could be harnessed towards their highest productivity while I reflected on the trajectory of my own life. By the help of God, I was fortunate to share my concerns with certain members of this association who immediately bought into the vision and ensured that we birthed it. Our inaugural meeting at Ikot Ekpene, Akwa-lbom State in May, 2024 was a testament of the quote by Magareat Mead, American anthropologist, "Never doubt that a small group of committed and thoughtful citizen scan change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has".

As we embark on this journey, let us remember: "Nwanne Malu Nwanneya" - "He who will not lift his brother up will not be lifted himself." Unity is our strength, and together,we will make the South East of Nigeria the most progressive region in Africa within the next 10 years God willing.

Our mission in the short term is ambitious - to establish Akuluno Medical School in the South East of Nigeria, awarding BSC degrees to develop the capacities of our youths in this noble profession.

We are in the final preparatory stage of. registering Akuluno Holdings Company which will birth Akuluno Microfinance bank to generate employment for our people and fund initiatives across the region. Our collective contributions thus far from membership commitment fees is now over Two billion naira which is sufficient to take off these two audacious projects, special thanks to the commitment of our able members.

During this AGM, your active participation will be invaluable. Your contributions, wisdom, will enrich our discourse, deliberations and decisions to chart our path forward. I urge you to give us your best in the spirit of brotherhood and diverse collective industry insights, as the years ahead demand our best articulations, collective efforts and commitment.

The fallout of this meeting shall mark the beginning of an era of active engagement. We must hold our long-term vision strongly with love, faith, and commitment. Let us work together to create opportunities, promote development, and uplift our communities in the South East to her highest levels of achievement.

As we move forward, remember that:

-Every voice matters-

 -Every idea counts

- Every effort Contributes to our shared success

In the spirit of unity and progress charge you to:

Stay informed and engaged

Volunteer your time and expe

Support our initiatives and projects

Together, we will overcome challenges, opportunities, and build a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and generations to Thank you for your participation, and welcome once again to this maiden AGM!
