Ohanaezendigbo Worlwide New York State Chapter, USA, declares the proposed nationwide August 1 through 10,2024, “Hunger Protest “ Non grata and thus, respectfully request all sons and daughters, in around Nigeria and in diaspora not to participate in any shape or form.
Mazi Innocent Obiegbu, President Ohanaezendigbo Worlwide New York State Chapter, USA, in a statement on Sunday July 28,2024, to New York State community and to various communities at large, specifically to our sons and daughters in Nigeria, request that no one participate in the “#End Bad Governance “ or “Hunger Protest “, scheduled for August 1-10,2024.
Ndigbo are committed irreversibly to a “ RESTRUCTURED NIGERIA “ where equity and, justice and fairness is upheld.
A Nigeria where all citizens are free to aspire and able to live out life to his/her God given potential, absent tribal sentiments built on religion, ethnicity and bigotry.
Ndigbo are wise and intelligent enough not to participate in the protest being organized by groups not associated with our cause and being characterized all over media as an “ IGBO PROTEST “ by our detractors.
Have Ndigbo forgotten so soon the “ #EndSars Protest “ that was tagged IPOB PROTEST and the mayhem Ndigbo encountered.
Ndigbo , this Protest is an “ENTRAPMENT “ for another phase of killings and destruction of our livelihood and properties by same groups and individuals interested only in our existential demise in the face of the earth and specifically in Nigeria .
Ndigbo are not going to participate in the proposed August 2024, Hunger Protest to avoid any appearance or repeat incidents of 1966 coup, tagged IBO coup, the JOS genocide of 1945 and 1953, the Kano genocide of 1945 and 1954, including the notorious genocide of 1967-1970 civil war, perpetuated by Nigerian government, where 3,000,000 children and adults were murdered.
To date, Ndigbo has been faced with nationwide genocide including destruction of their livelihood and properties following the 2023 Presidential election, specifically in Lagos State.
There was no nationwide protest or outrage by these meaningful groups or Nigerians at the relevant time. Where were these groups???
NDIGBO must say NO to participation in these USELESS and No good protest.
NDIGBO must say NO to more deaths in our communities
NDIGBO must say NO to being entrapped in these protests that are not associated with our cause or interests.
Enough is Enough and it’s about time Ndigbo organize in our own best interest collectively.
NDIGBO, our Unity of purpose is now more important than never .
Let us in memory of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, MFR, OFR, CFR, FNCE, FNSE, FNIST, KSG (Ahaejiagamba), say NO to more unnecessary deaths and insecurity in the South East, and in Nigeria as a whole.
Ndigbo sit at HOME;
Do Not Participate in the August 2024 Protest. It makes NO sense.
